10th Heavyweight
To Capture Title

_NEW YORK - Max Schmeling
is the tenth boxer to win recog-
nition as world heavyweight
champion since the title was
established under the Marquis of
Queeensbury rules in 1890.
_John L. Sullivan under the last
champion under the London prize
fighting rules with bare fists and be-
came the first heavyweight
champion when gloves were in-
troduced. The roll of champions
